SANTA RITA MAYA SITE

The Santa Rita Maya site in an ancient mayan site that survived the collapse of the Mayan society. It is believed that this exact ruin was once known as the prehistoric city of Chetumal. There are many points of interest to view such as secret passageway and vaults that visitors can still explore given that the large building has been left untouched.  The Santa Rita site is located westward towards the modern day Corozal town. Luckily for visitors, Santa Rita is open all year round!

About Me

Hello! I'm Reymundo! I am apart of the Belize Tourism Board. I work for the Corozal chapter and I was tasked in creating a website that highlights all the wonders of the Corozal District. In my opinion, Corozal is a highly underrated location in Belize which is why I made this to attract both tourists and locals that aren't from Corozal to come and enjoy the various things Corozal has to offer. â€‹
